So I've been really exploring Using my usual ball point pen ink in conjunction with watercolor, a medium with which I never really familiarized myself and I am having a blast! It's working out great and it's always so fun to learn new things, and explore new ways to create. It's been fascinating mixing the pen, which is always right where you intend to put it, with watercolor that just does whatever the f it wants to. Hopefully by thursday I'll have my Moogle Midgar all painted. It's become a joke between my wife and I how often and how many poeple kept reminding me to take photos in case I royally screwed up. Well, after months of sporadic inspiration and work on my FF prints which I typically do in the evenings, I was tired and as I went up to bed I forgot that I am the proud owner of a two year old; that being said I left my pad of heavy weight paper on which my stuff is coming to fruition out on the couch down here. One of my lovely progeny decided to accentuate my work with some choice doodles of his own... Needless to say they won't come out exactly as planned, but I figure sometimes it makes art far more exciting when you are thrown an obstacle that you need to figure out how to deal with. Well, I finally posted something! It's not in its final state, but whenever I am ready to paint something I've drawn I get super nervous that it will look terrible. From the inspiration of my buddy Steve Crowe I'm trying to create a number of original final fantasy themed 11 x 17 prints by comic con. This one was the first to really fully develop in my mind. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the others come along too. Gotta discipline myself to save that time after the little boys go to bed for my art.
